1.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between pages or visits, such as that you are signed in.
This policy covers the cookies set by this website and by the Platform, including each hospital’s workspace, website and patient portal. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2.Cookies the Platform needs
These cookies keep you signed in and keep the Platform secure. The Platform cannot work without them, so they are always on. They are set only when you use the feature they belong to, and they are not used for advertising.
- hms_session: keeps hospital staff and doctors signed in. It ends when you sign out, after a period of inactivity, or at the latest after 30 days.
- hms_admin_session: keeps Nanostack platform staff signed in to the administration console. It has short idle and absolute time limits.
- hms_portal_patient: remembers which patient profile is selected in a patient portal. It lasts 12 hours.
- hms_branch: remembers which branch a member of staff is working in. It lasts 180 days.
- hms_booking_verified: remembers that you verified your phone number while booking an appointment on a hospital’s website. It lasts for a short time only.
3.Preference cookies
These remember choices you make, so you do not have to make them again. Each lasts up to one year, and it is only set once you make the choice — or, for the website region, when you open a link that names one.
- hms_locale: the language you chose.
- hms_market: whether you see the India website (prices in rupees) or the international website (prices in US dollars).
- hms_nav_rail: whether you keep the side menu in the Platform collapsed.
4.Measurement and advertising cookies
These are used only on this marketing website. They are not used inside a hospital’s workspace, on its patient portal, or on its public website.
We use Google Tag Manager to load measurement and advertising tags, including the Meta Pixel. They help us understand which pages and adverts bring people to us, and they set cookies such as:
- _fbp (Meta): identifies your browser to Meta so visits and sign-ups can be linked to our adverts. It typically lasts 90 days.
- _fbc (Meta): records that you arrived by clicking one of our adverts on Facebook or Instagram. It typically lasts 90 days.
When you submit a form on this website, we may also send Meta the event (for example, “demo requested”) together with your email address and phone number in hashed form, so that it can be matched to our adverts. We never send patient information.
Google and Meta use this data under their own privacy policies.
5.How to control cookies
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block the cookies the Platform needs, you will not be able to sign in.
- You can block measurement and advertising cookies without affecting the Platform. You can also use your browser’s tracking protection, or a content blocker.
- You can manage how Meta uses your data for adverts in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
6.Changes and contact
We will update this policy when we add or remove cookies. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
